Two Ideas to Lift Your Spirits & Business UP

This time between Thanksgiving and the winter holidays can be wonderful or extremely challenging. This year most of us are experiencing "challenging". So far the shopping reports say spending this past weekend was UP a little from last year, but the per person purchases were DOWN.

So how do we focus on the UP and not the DOWN? Sometimes it can be exhausting staying positive to attract good things in your business and your life. So WLE has 2 UP ideas for you.

UP Idea #1: Start each week by clicking on the WLE homepage, www.womensleadershipexchange.com. Each week we are featuring a different video from past WLE conferences right on our home page. The videos feature WLE Compass Awards conversations, or keynotes that that we believe will inspire you, give you new ideas and make you laugh. They may even move you. Most are about 20 minutes. Watch what ever you have time for. I was going to shorten them to 5 minutes, but WLE subscribers/members told me that they love watching them in their entirety....and so we are keeping them intact. We are presenting new ones to you - each and every week to light up your week. Feel free to share with your friends, family, other business women and staff, so they can be inspired, too. (We ALL need it, don't we?)

UP Idea #2: My sister Beth, always the optimist, shared the ageless wisdom of perhaps the first women's business coach from 1899 (that's not a typo) - Florence Scovel Shinn. The book: "The Complete Writings of Florence Scovel Shinn for Women" is amazing. It's the best bedside reading I've come across in along time. While written "old style" - meaning somewhat Biblical - the messages, and some of the stories, are very modern. So focus on the messages, ignore the religious references if they bother you, and you'll be totally inspired. You'll also wonder if anything has changed since 1899. By the way, there were a lot of business women back then.

Here's a sample of one of Florence's Guidance Affirmations:
"I am always under direct inspiration. I know just what to do and give instant obedience to my intuitive leads".
Florence is right. Most of us know what to do, but often we second guess ourselves. Let's give ourselves the gift of following our own intuition. That's an UP, I promise!
