| Helen Greiner is chairman and co-founder of iRobot (Nasdaq: IRBT). Greiner’s forward-looking instincts have transformed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology spin-off into a $249 million business and a global leader of practical robots. Under her leadership, iRobot is at the forefront of the growing robot industry, delivering home and government robots that are making a difference. Today, more than 2 million iRobot® Roomba® vacuum cleaning robots – the world’s first affordable home robot – have been sold around the globe. More than 1,500 iRobot® PackBot® tactical mobile robots have been delivered to military and civil defense forces worldwide, performing thousands of dangerous missions while keeping personnel out of harm’s way. Greiner’s visionary contributions in technology innovation and business leadership have been recognized with numerous professional awards. She has been named one of America’s Best Leaders by the Kennedy School at Harvard University in conjunction with U.S. News & World Report and has been honored with the Pioneer Award from the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI). Greiner sits on the computer science advisory board of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the board of trustees of the Boston Museum of Science and the board of directors of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). She holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in computer science, both from MIT. |
